Transforming the Hotel Bar into a Modern Western-Inspired Space
Sage Hospitality hired 2WR Architects to renovate the hotel bar and dining areas at Holiday Inn Stapleton. The goal was to create a welcoming, open-concept space that reflects the hotel’s regional charm. Moreover, this redesign improved both aesthetics and functionality, elevating the overall guest experience.
Blending Western Aesthetics with Modern Comfort
To bring the Western theme to life, 2WR carefully selected high-quality materials that balance style and durability. For instance, the design features Beetle-kill wood planking, a custom wood and epoxy bar surface, luxury VCT wood plank flooring, and new carpet, paint, and wall vinyl. As a result, these choices create a warm yet contemporary feel, making the space more inviting for guests.

Expanding the Bar for More Seating and Better Flow
Beyond visual appeal, the renovation significantly improved the layout for better guest flow and accessibility. To enhance the dining area, 2WR Architects removed an existing gift shop, providing more space for additional seating. Furthermore, eliminating a storage room allowed for a larger bar area, increasing capacity. Additionally, the team removed several perimeter walls, making the hotel bar visible from the entrance. Consequently, this open layout encourages interaction and improves service efficiency.

Every design choice focused on guest experience and operational efficiency. As a result, the new hotel bar now offers a spacious, visually appealing, and engaging atmosphere. Guests can now enjoy expanded seating, an open-concept design, and a refined Western aesthetic. Furthermore, the improved layout makes it easier for staff to serve customers quickly and efficiently.
